Selmer.<\/p><p>Electronic music has been part of his life since the late 1980s, from DJing and radio to producing and releasing his own recordings.<\/p><div class=\"hl-actions\"><a class=\"hl-button\" Copenhagen\u2019s record shops, including Street Dance Records, Morten began exploring electronic music through DJing, local events and the radio programme <a href=\"https:\/\/hotnews.skylabmusic.com\/\">Hotnews<\/a>.<\/p><p>Early production involved the Ensoniq EPS 16 and ASR-10 samplers. His techno recordings used the name Quite Explicit, later known as QE. Heliotrope became a separate space for exploring house, trance and more melodic electronic music.<\/p><h2>From vinyl to independence<\/h2><p>In 1998, Heliotrope released the 12\u2033 single <em>Is It You? \/ All Is Fair<\/em> on Hypnotic Records. In 2000, Morten founded <a href=\"https:\/\/skylabmusic.com\/\">Skylab Music<\/a> as an independent home for his recordings and other electronic music projects.<\/p><p>The Heliotrope catalogue includes albums such as <em>Flowers from the Unknown<\/em>, <em>Turning Towards The Sun<\/em> and <em>Into The Skies<\/em>, alongside singles, remixes and digital reissues of earlier recordings.<\/p><h2>Heliotrope today<\/h2><p>The project continues through new releases and revisits to the archive, with melody, atmosphere and a connection to the dance floor at its centre.
